Former home of W.F. Newton, teacher and founder of Newton Grocery Co., at 411 N. Foster Street. The grocery store was founded in downtown Dothan in 1889 and helped establish Dothan’s early thriving economy. It remained open for 108 years and employed hundreds of Wiregrass residents.
