A family story of how James Gary “Montana” Owens, a cowboy with the XIT Ranch in Texas, made his way to Dothan, Alabama, married Celeste (Lessie) Box, and raised a family.

Montana Owens is the grandfather of Mrs. Sara Carroll, a Houston County resident, and the namesake of Montana Street in Dothan.
