Connect at Lunch / Henry Co. Bicentennial Committee Organizational Meeting

August, 2018
Great Southern Wood Conference Center, Abbeville

Henry County is celebrating both the county and state’s bicentennial since Henry County is one day older than the state of Alabama. Part of Henry County’s preparation for the bicentennial events began with a joint meeting of Headland and Abbeville’s Chambers of Commerce at the Great Southern Conference Center in Abbeville in August. Dr. Martin T. Olliff, Professor of History at Troy University – Dothan and Director of the Wiregrass Archives, was our guest speaker. He stressed the importance of taking advantage of the bicentennial celebration to archive all our history–community, business, family histories.
