47th Annual Harvest Festival Celebration (Official Alabama 200 event)

October 2018
Downtown Headland

Headland’s 47th Annual Harvest Festival Celebration, an official Alabama 200 event, was held in October of 2018 and concluded with Harvest Day on Saturday, October 13, 2018. A slice of Americana with more than 100 vendors and participants, Harvest Day packed downtown Headland with arts and crafts, a classic car show, children’s games and rides, a variety of musicians and performers entertaining throughout the day, and delicious food from non-profits and food trucks. The whole community worked together to host the event.

In addition to Harvest Day, other Harvest Festival events included:

Harvest Festival Fly-In, October 6, where the Headland Airport welcomed dozens of aviators from crop-dusters and bi-planes to military helicopters and law enforcement gliders. Guests were able to see them up close and even take a ride!

Harvest 5K Run and 1-mile Fun Run, which attracted about 80 runners and their families to downtown for some friendly, energetic competition.

Harvest Festival Pageant that crowned queens from six different age categories.

Gibson Distilling Company hosted tasting tours of their whiskey and talked about the history of whiskey-making in Alabama.
